THE STORY BEHIND THE “THANK YOU JESUS” T-SHIRT

The “Thank You Jesus” T-shirt was first printed in Dec 2016 in Houston, Texas, USA. I have been an ardent adorer of Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament since my elementary school years. My adoration of Jesus is so fervent that whenever I am in a new location, the first thing I do is look for a church to adore Jesus in the blessed sacrament. I was told by my parents that Jesus is present in the blessed sacrament. Though I couldn’t comprehend how Jesus could be inside a host, and locked up in the monstrance, as young as I was, I had no other option than to believe. I joined the altar girls so I could be closer to the altar and believed one day I could see Jesus inside the monstrance. But I never saw Jesus, instead, each time we came to change the altar cloths, we took some time to adore Jesus in the blessed sacrament. Before I became an altar girl, I used to be among the flower girls for the Christ the King (Corpus Christi) procession. Each year, it was an exciting time to be selected to be among those who would be strewing flowers before Jesus in the monstrance during the procession. I graduated from being a flower girl to an altar girl who selected and prepared flower girls for the Corpus Christi ceremony each year until I entered the university. My parents and the congregation of the Immaculate Heart sisters’ convent in my neighborhood, which was established by Sr. Mary Coleman, an Irish nun, influenced my prayer life tremendously. The adoration of my Lord in the blessed sacrament continued even during my university days. I went to a Catholic university (Madonna, owned by Rev Fr. Prof Emmanuel Edeh, CSSP) and inside the school was a convent and chapel.

So, I was literally living inside the chapel, adorning Jesus in the blessed sacrament.
There was nothing serious happening in my life then that would have made me realize how much my Lord loved me. I never knew the extent of the relationship I have built with Jesus over the years by adoring him in the blessed sacrament until the storms of life came knocking on my doors. Hmmm. We are not fighting flesh, but principalities and powers of darkness!!

Around August 2016, I was in deep thought about how to thank my Lord for all he had done in my life.  I could not think of anything that would be equal to Jesus giving me freedom and leading me through the dark, snowy, rocky path.

He held me by the hand and led me through the bumpy, slippery, potholed road that many have gone through, and either died on the way or ended up in mental homes. My Lord saved me. Even when I died during the journey, he breathed life into me and gave me another chance to live.

So, on that fateful day, when I was holding the picture of Jesus (on the T-shirt), and looking at and admiring Jesus, I asked “Lord, how can I thank you enough for all you did for me? Even if I could see you and buy you a car or a cow, none of those things would be enough to thank you for what you have done for me.”  “Take this picture, make a T-shirt, and write ‘Thank You, Jesus’ on it and share it and as many as say Thank you, Jesus, that is how much you will thank me”. I was shocked when I heard that and I looked around and saw no one. I buried my face in the picture and wept. I took the picture to a graphic design shop and made the T-shirts as instructed by my Lord.

Since Dec 2016, I have been printing the T-shirts and giving them away for free.  Many people who have the shirt have been giving testimonies on how the Lord has blessed them since wearing it.

My brethren, the Lord is happy when we thank him, but we do not thank him enough. You may think that you do not have any reason to thank him, but you can thank him for the life he gave you. Many are dead and you are still alive regardless of your situation.

May it please my Lord to fight your battles the way he fought mine, and may you have reasons to thank him all the days of your life.   Amen

WHY MEDICAL MISSION?

God calls his people to help those in need. In Luke 9:2, Jesus sent his disciples out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. We want to follow Jesus’ command and example.

There are many people around the world who have little access to medical care, education, food and the good news of Jesus Christ. We want to create an opportunity to connect Christian medical personnel to those in  need through medical mission trips and community health evangelism.

WHO CAN SERVE?

We need physicians, dentists, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, dental assistants, pharmacists, students in various healthcare professions, and non-medical helpers to travel with us on medical mission trips. The needs are great. The passion is real. The situations are challenging. Will you JOIN US and answer His call?
